These Community Guidelines apply to all RiverRun users — Riders and Drivers alike. By using RiverRun, you agree to follow these guidelines along with the RiverRun Terms of Service and applicable agreements.

1. Safety First

Your safety — and the safety of others — is the top priority.

Violations may result in immediate removal from RiverRun.

2. Substance Use, Smoking, and Vaping

Drivers must never operate a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any substance that may impair safe driving.

Riders must not be dangerously intoxicated and must be able to safely enter and exit the vehicle.

Alcohol, drugs, smoking of any kind (including tobacco, marijuana, or any other substance), and vaping are strictly prohibited inside the vehicle at all times by both Drivers and Riders. Open alcohol containers are not permitted inside the vehicle during transport, except where explicitly permitted by applicable law and approved by the Driver.

Drivers may refuse service if a Rider appears unsafe or impaired.

3. Weapons and Dangerous Items

Firearms, weapons, or hazardous materials are not permitted during RiverRun rides, except where expressly permitted by law and disclosed in advance. Any item that creates a safety concern may result in ride cancellation and account action.

If a user feels unsafe, they should cancel the ride and report the incident to RiverRun.

4. Respect and Conduct

All users are expected to treat each other with respect.

Drivers

Vehicle Rules: Drivers may set reasonable vehicle rules, and Riders are expected to respect them.

Privacy and Contact: Users may not contact each other after a ride is completed except for legitimate purposes such as returning lost items through the platform. Unwanted or repeated contact may result in account action.

5. Equipment and Property

Riders are responsible for their gear. Drivers are responsible for safe transport.

Cleanliness and the Wet Factor: Since RiverRun serves a paddling community, some water is expected. However, Riders should shake off excess mud and water and use towels or dry bags to help protect the vehicle interior.

Users may be held financially responsible for damages or excessive cleaning costs (up to $150).

6. Animals

Riders must disclose any animals in advance of the ride. Drivers may refuse service if animals are not disclosed or create safety, cleanliness, or space concerns, consistent with applicable law including service animal requirements.

7. Environmental Stewardship

Leave No Trace: Respect the rivers we love. No littering at put-ins, take-outs, or inside vehicles.

Conditions Awareness: Users should exercise caution and good judgment regarding weather, river conditions, and access points. Drivers may cancel rides if conditions are unsafe.

8. Communication Expectations

Users are expected to respond to coordination messages promptly, notify the other party if running late, and use in-app communication when possible.

Incident Reporting: All safety or property incidents must be reported to RiverRun as soon as possible, and in all cases within 24 hours.

9. Cancellations and Reliability

Riders should cancel in advance when possible. Drivers should only accept rides they intend to complete and are reasonably able to fulfill.

Repeated reliability issues may result in account action.

10. Platform Integrity

The following are not allowed on RiverRun:

11. Minors

No Unaccompanied Minors: Riders must be at least 18 years old to have a RiverRun account and to ride alone. Any minor (under 18) must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the ride.

Safety Seats: Parents or legal guardians are solely responsible for providing and properly installing any required safety equipment (e.g., car seats, booster seats).

Drivers must refuse service if a minor is unaccompanied or proper restraints are not provided.

12. Seatbelts and Safe Riding

All Riders must wear seatbelts where available and comply with applicable safety laws. Drivers may refuse or terminate a ride if safety requirements are not followed.

13. Driver Safety Discretion

Drivers have final discretion to refuse or terminate a ride at any time if they believe a situation is unsafe, unlawful, or inconsistent with these guidelines.

14. Emergencies

In the event of an emergency, users should contact local emergency services (911) first, then notify RiverRun. RiverRun is not an emergency response provider and cannot guarantee immediate emergency assistance.

15. Shared Responsibility

RiverRun is a peer-to-peer platform. While we vet users, all Riders and Drivers must exercise good judgment and are responsible for their own safety decisions.

16. Enforcement and Account Actions

RiverRun may take action including warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent removal. RiverRun reserves the right to take action at any time, without prior notice, particularly in cases involving safety concerns.

No Retaliation: Retaliation against any user for reporting a concern or incident is strictly prohibited.

17. Reporting Issues

Report concerns related to safety, harassment, vehicle concerns, or damage within 24 hours of the incident. Users agree to cooperate with any investigation or follow-up.
